Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi, Milan

Gasparoli

Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi, located at Via S. Spirito, 7, was built in 1895 in the style of the second half of the 15th century in Lombardy. It was conceived as a house museum, in which collections of works of art, objects and furnishings were placed within rooms designed in a uniform style, mixing imitation pieces with original elements recovered from demolished buildings. The façade reflects the taste for combinations of terracotta and marble, where the windows and grilles are imitations of well-known elements; the secondary portal, decorated with candelabra, on the right, is an authentic piece from 1507.
